Special Projects

Lellie Lopter is passionate about creating a literature-rich environment that inspires people to connect with their community. As the caretaker of 40 Free Little Libraries, Lellie worked with Mildura Senior College students to connect local kids with over 2000 free books in public spaces across the Sunraysia area.

Lellie's 'My Brother Born Sleeping' project involved collaborating with illustrators from around the world to create a free video resource and a picture book to help raise money for Red Nose Australia so they can support families, fund research, and save little lives.

Through the 'Rhyme Time Project', Lellie encourages young learners to build confidence in public speaking through recorded poetry recitals. As a judge of the CYA Conference competitions, Lellie provides feedback and encouragement to emerging and established authors.

Lellie is a contributor to the Author Penpal Project which encourages storytelling through handwritten letters. Lellie also supports the Incognito Art Show, a yearly art auction that raised funds to assist people with disabilities to access and enjoy the creative arts.

Lellie also contributors to the Primary Libraries Creative Collaboration (PLCC) Author Backpack Project, where her backpack is filled with creative activities to spark imagination and a lifelong love of learning.
